An adorably spooky and silly Halloween picture book for young kids with bewitching pastel illustrations for fans of Gustavo, the Shy Ghost
It’s spooky season but Georgia’s not afraid!
"Rhyming text plays it straight, letting the art provide the tricks and treats."
—The Horn Book
One cool day in late October, Georgia noticed something weird. Objects would move around the house and sometimes they even disappeared. Now, some people may have wondered (especially at this time of year) if this was the work of something spooky? But not clever Georgia! She has all the explanations and none of the fear!
Join Georgia in debunking the spookiest of ghoulish and ghostly mischief in this Halloween adventure! This adorable not-so-scary rhyming picture book features charming retro pastel illustrations with super silly hidden images on every page for little ones to find.

The retro-style illustrations, featuring muted pink, blue and golds, are spot-on. Kids will have a good time being in on the joke and looking for all the hidden (and not so hidden) ghosts.
No Such Thing is spooky without ever being scary — just the right kind of silly ghost-story for the run-up to Hallowe’en. Artist/author Ella Bailey has done a wonderful job of telling a story with pictures and words, and there are delightful visual flourishes on every page, conveying the full flavor of Georgia’s increasing insistence that there must be a rational explanation for all these things.
Bailey has created a gorgeous world […] from the furniture and wallpaper to the food in the fridge. Every bit is pleasing to look at. The text is playful and ever-so-slightly sarcastic, which appeals to all different audiences. Georgia’s character is so important in this book because she is a strong female role model. […] No Such Thing is definitely an A+ book, one that every young reader should have in their collection.
Bailey's illustrations are full of wide-eyed character and expression with plenty of detail in each scene to keep keener eyes occupied.
A great Halloween gift that would last a lot longer than candy.
