About the creators
Louise Whitney was born and raised in Colorado along the Front Range. A graduate of the University of Colorado and Colorado State University, she is a registered dietitian, college teacher, and wellness educator. Louise now makes her home in Michigan. At night, she often finds herself dreaming of her home state, Colorado. She was inspired to write by her deep and abiding love of the mountains and plains.
Historian Gleaves Whitney grew up in Texas where his love of the West and admiration for the cowboy way of life took root. At the age of four, he met Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and Trigger. A graduate of Colorado State University and the University of Michigan, he lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Award-winning artist Susan Guy is known for her colorful paintings of equine and western themes. Her work is displayed in numerous galleries and exhibitions across the country, such as the prestigious Arts for the Parks competition in Jackson, Wyoming, and the American Academy of Equine Art in Lexington, Kentucky. One of her paintings is also included in the permanent collection of the Phippen Museum in Prescott, Arizona.
